Mark and Marla Swiecichowski are remodeling Wisconsin College of Cosmetology Inc., which they purchased in April. The 47-year-old business is at 2960 Allied St., Ashwaubenon.
"The facilities are very outdated on the inside. We are gutting it from top to bottom," Mark Swiecichowski said.
They will invest between $50,000 and $100,000 in the business, Swiecichowski said. Work is being done on nights and weekends so the school's 85 cosmetology and massage therapy students can continue their studies.
Swiecichowski said hair cutting and styling is a growing business, and the school has a good record.
"The last seven years we've had a 100 percent pass rate on state exams," he said. "Not too many schools in the nation have that."
In addition to the usual classes, the school offers training on customer service, front desk operations and other things students need to know about running a business.
The school has 18 employees.
Swiecichowski also owns APEX Construction and Development, De Pere, and Certified Technology Professionals, Ashwaubenon.
