Cosmetology School grows with the Swiecichowski's

Mark and Marla Swiecichowski own Wisconsin College of Cosmetology in Green Bay.  The business is known for living up to its motto "Excellence in Education."

Wisconsin College of Cosmetology is considered one of the top accredited cosmetology schools in the ever evolving beauty industry. Our students receive education in cutting, coloring and styling techniques in both a classroom setting as well as given practical experience on our large newly remodeled clinic floor. They learn from some of the best cosmetology instructors in the industry. We offer all of the services a salon offers at a discounted price. Our students receive grades for the professional services they offer and it ensures that a high quality result is achieved. It is our desire that you leave feeling better about yourself than when you came to visit.

In recent years, there have been many salon owners who have started their own schools. We always welcome competition because it forces us to continually stay on top of our game. Redken, Aveda and Paul Mitchell all have recently tried to enter the cosmetology school market, but I found out it takes a lot more than just putting your product name on a school. Our ultimate goal is to ensure our graduates are employable. After all, that is why they go to school. In Wisconsin, to be a cosmetologist in salon, not only do you have to have the necessary skills to perform the services, but you must also have your cosmetology license from this state. And that is how we differentiate ourselves. Over the last 8 years, our students have had a 100% pass rate on the state board exams. No other school in Wisconsin even comes close to that pass rate.

If you are going to school for a career in the cosmetology industry you need a license. You also need the instruction from quality instructors. Before you decide on a cosmetology school; make sure you ask the right questions, and make them show you their records, because we certainly will.

We have owned the college since April of this year. Twenty years of successful business adventures lead us to purchase WCC. We have been involved in everything from information technology and business consulting, to construction and real estate development. Marla and I have strong management, marketing and financial backgrounds. What we have found throughout the years is that success comes from simply listening to your customers. We listen very closely to the students and salon customers. Their feedback has been implemented into the many changes in our school.

We spent the first few months remodeling every square foot of the 16,000 square feet in the building. Marla was responsible for the interior remodeling of the school, from the colors on the walls, the new furniture in the manicure and facial rooms to the beautiful pictures placed throughout the building. She has single handedly created the precise mood in every room of the school. And our students, staff and clients absolutely love it. We have created a relaxing place to learn and receive salon quality services.

This is a very fun and exciting business. There are two distinct sides to our business. First and foremost it is our job to provide a quality education for our students. The cosmetology industry is one of the largest industries in the world. The service side alone is over $100 billion per year in revenue. We are proud of every single student that we graduate. Many friendships are formed during their schooling here and we stay very close to many of them after graduation. We host a bi-monthly luncheon with our graduates to catch up on their accomplishments and to show our appreciation.
The other side of our business is the salon service side. We are a full service salon. We offer hair cuts, colors, styles, facials, manicures, pedicures and much more. We offer bridal, homecoming, prom, and children's birthday parties. All are offered at very affordable prices. Our students take pride in delivering quality services and everyone is very friendly. It is fun to hear from people who have been coming here for 30 or more years. They are in awe by all of the changes that have taken place. It has been six months since the change in ownership and customers are still commenting on the schools transformation. We are located at 2960 Allied Street. To learn more, you can reach the school by phone (336-8888), or visit it online at www.wccgb.edu.
